On My Wishlist: Summer to Fall Essentials

Lil Wayne once said, “I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave.” While this literary masterpiece of a quote is about someone’s fabulous behind, I think this quote relates perfectly to the rapidly approaching end to our dear summer. This can only mean one thing: the season of transition is upon us. We have all fallen victim to the habit of buying arm-loads of fall/winter clothes that aren’t actually suitable until late October, so we are left trying to figure out what to wear while we wait. Transitioning you wardrobe from summer to fall is one of the hardest and most frustrating tasks, which I will make easier with some tips in an upcoming post (watch out for it soon!).

While you wait for my tips on transitioning though, I thought I’d share with you what is on my wishlist for transitioning essentials.

1. ASOS Eyelet Lace-Up Bodysuit

Lace-Up is the new big thing with it’s seventies spirit and it’s slightly sexy appeal to it. I love bodysuits because it makes layering so easy. I would love to style this bodysuit with pretty much anything. What I love about this one is its long sleeves which makes it suitable for the transition period from summer to fall. Plus, this piece is so versatile it is a day-to-night girl’s dream.

2. Adidas Stan Smith Sneakers

Are we even surprised? A pair of the highly coveted Stan Smith Adidas is on everyone’s wishlist right now. I think I have an excuse though since my dearly departed white Converse low-top chucks have been absent from my life for a few months now leaving me with a white sneaker hole in my life that needs filling. I love that norm-core style allows a city slicker like myself to be comfortable while still looking trendy, like with a pair of these.

3. Topshop Moto Clean Cut Flare Jeans

I already told you that I needed a pair of flare jeans in my seventies wishlist post but I felt that these were important enough to reiterate how much I need them in my life. I can’t even begin to describe to you how many possible outfits I have running through my head that require a good and trusty pair of dark wash, high-waisted flares. It’s edging on painful not having a pair in my closet yet.

4. UNIF x UO Waffle Knit Tunic Sweater

I have been eyeing this piece since I saw it at Urban Outfitters last year. Thank god they deemed this piece worthy of coming back for another year, because I think I should probably commit to it. I love this sweater because it is so sleek-looking. It is the perfect sweater to transform any outfit, and I think I’m biased because I’m an accent zipper enthusiast.

5. Free People Elise Dress

I’m truly not surprised that this piece is on my wishlist because this screams my name just looking at it. Honestly, they should have named it after me, not Elise. Shirt and shift dresses are like my thing and this would make the perfect addition to my wardrobe for the transitioning period, and actually, year round. What I like about this is that it has long sleeves to accommodate for colder temperatures, but it also has a fun detailed open back. I really want to get my hands on this, in every color.

I hope you’ve gained a bit of inspiration for your summer to fall transition wardrobe, and remember to keep an eye out for my favorite tips for the transition.
